19 September 2019 Current Events Road Transport Vehicle Strike in Delhi NCR

On Thursday, road transport vehicles such as auto rickshaws, a few private buses, cab aggregators like ola and uber have struck work in order to protest against the newly hiked penalties in the Motor Vehicle Act. Due to the strike, office-goers are facing difficulties commuting to work, and a few schools and colleges will remain closed. The United Front of Transport Associations (UFTA) stated that they are forced to go on strike by the Centre and Delhi government as their redressal of "grievances" for the new MV Act remains unresolved. However, Delhi Metro and DTC buses remain up and running, in a partial belief to commuters.
