20 August 2018 Current Events Kochi Naval runway opened today to continue operations of small commercial aircrafts in flood-hit Kerala

The Kochi Naval runway is opened today for the operation of small commercial aircrafts. An Alliance Air ATR plane has landed at the INS Garuda naval air station today morning. Kochi airport is likely to remain closed till August 26, though the flood water has begun to recede.

This good news came as a big relief for the country after Sushil Kumar failed to claim a gold medal after losing to Bahrain's Adam Batirov under 74 kg category in the games.
