20 July 2019 Current Events Sheila Dikshit Passes Away at 81

As per recent news updates, on Friday, July 20, 2019, former CM of Delhi Sheila Dikshit passed away at the age of 81. This lady created history and will always remain in our hearts, for all the development work she did for Delhi. Meanwhile, being a charismatic Congress leader she was elected three-times as the Chief Minister of Delhi. News agencies reported that Sheila Dikshit died of cardiac arrhythmia which means that she was not able to breathe properly, due to irregular heartbeat. She was put on the ventilator while admitted at Fortis Escorts hospital in New Delhi. The famous former CM underwent angioplasty in November 2012 and was also given medical treatment for infection some time ago. Delhiites are bidding her tearful farewell today and people across all strata of society are praying for her soul to rest in peace.


2 People Lose their Lives in Kerala due to Relentless Rains

As per recent news updates, heavy rains lashed the state of Kerala on Friday, July 20, 2019. These heavy rains, apart from coastal erosion, were responsible for taking lives of 2 people in the state. This natural calamity caused widespread damage to life and property. Moreover, many families residing in the affected areas were sent to the relief camps and were relocated on an urgent basis. The news agencies reported that a 55-year-old man lost his life at Anjalumoodu, Kollam, as a coconut tree uprooted due to the heavy winds fell on him. Several people got injured and were sent to hospital for recovery. In Thiruvalla, a man was killed because of strong current which was witnessed in Manimala river. However, Electricity Board of Kerala has already issued alerts to the people residing near the banks of the Periyar lake, to prevent any mishap due to electrocution.
