Uttarakhand Governor asks CM to Prove Majority after 9 Rebel Cong MLAs change Allegiance

Uttarakhand Governor KK Paul has formally asked Chief Minister Harish Rawat to prove his government’s majority in the assembly before March 28. The recent development took place after 27 BJP MLAs of the state, joined by 9 rebel Congress MLAs, met the governor and staked claim of forming the government. Though the rebel Congress MLAs have been expelled from the cabinet, CM Rawat claimed that rebels are in touch with them and haven’t actually left Congress. While Congress has blamed BJP President Amit Shah for creating the crisis, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that it’s Congress failure of not being able to protect its own government.

After two Muslim cattle traders were allegedly lynched by an angry mob in Jharkhand’s Latehar, SP Anoop Birthary said 5 persons (Mithilesh Prasad Sahu, Manoj Sahu, Awdesh Sahu, Manoj Prasad Sahu, and Pramod Sahu) have been arrested. Reports say Mithilesh is associated with Gau Raksha Samiti. While Deepak Prakash (Vice President of Jharkhand BJP) questioned why existent cow slaughter law in the state is not enforced to stop such ‘public outrage’, Jharkhand CM Raghubar Das asked administration to ensure that such incidents don’t get repeated.

FM Jaitley's assurance makes Jewellers end 18-day Strike

Chairman of All India Gems and Jewellery Trade Federation, Sreedhar GV, said that after Finance Minister Arun Jaitley assured major jewellery associations that the excise duty officers will not harass them on excise duty, they have ended their 18-days old strike. Over 300 jewellery associations, comprising more than 3 lakh jewellers, have been demanding rollback of the proposed 1 per cent excise duty on non-silver jewellery, since March 2. Rs 25,000 crore loss has been incurred by the gems and jewellery industry during the strike.

A S Kiran Kumar says ISRO working on Exciting Missions

While delivering his speech at 24th convocation of Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute in Chennai, ISRO Chairman A S Kiran Kumar said that the Indian space organisation is working on exciting missions such as sun gazing project called Aditya L1 and Chandrayaan 2. He also said that the planning of both GSLV Mark II and GSLV Mark III will be done within this year. Kumar hoped that more capital is used in harnessing young talents for producing better results.

Virat guides India to a Brilliant win over Arch- Rival Pakistan, Breaks Eden Gardens Jinx

Virat Kohli’s brilliant and responsible batting with support from Yuvraj Singh and skipper Dhoni helped India break the age old jinx of Kolkata’s Eden Gardens. India registered a six wicket win over Pakistan. While batting first, Pakistan piled up a score of 118/5 in 18 overs. India lost 3 quick wickets at the score of 23 runs on board. It was Virat who pulled India from abyss with his unbeaten 55 runs and secured an easy win over Pakistan.

2 Indians Confirmed Dead in Dubai-Russia bound FlyDubai Plane Crash

Reports have confirmed that two Indians (out of the total 62 death toll) have died in the FlyDubai Boeing 737-800 plane crash in Russia. The plane was flying from Dubai to Russia and the mishap took place when it attempted landing at 3.50am. The two Indians, a couple from Kerala, who died during the crash are Shyam Mohan and his wife KA Anju. Both of them were trained ayurvedic nurses and worked in an ayurvedic resort in Russia.
