While the assembly election results of West Bengal, Kerala and Puducherry won’t affect the position of any political party in the Rajya Sabha in the near future, the NDA would for the first time exceed the overall tally of the UPA with BJP and its ally TDP together receiving seven additional seats in the 11 June biennial election.


HSBC India to shut down 24 branches in 15 cities

HSBC India, part of London-based banking gianst HSBC, has planned to shut down 24 branches in 15 different cities in India. The intention behind this step is to reflect the changes in the customer behaviour, who are frequently using various digital channels for undertaking banking transactions. The bank network would be consolidating from 50 branches across 29 cities to 26 branches across 14 cities.


IBM set to create smart township out of Rashtrapati Bhavan

IBM Smart City Solutions would be utilized for transforming Rashtrapati Bhavan into a smart township. Announcement regarding the same was made at an event that witnessed the participating of President Pranab Mukherjee. The event also saw the launch of a citizens mobile app that would allow residents to report issues using the web and mobile. This app has been created by IBM Intelligent Operations Center (IOC).
