21 March 2020 Current Events 3,700 Trains to be Cancelled on March 22 to Coincide with Janata Curfew

In order to coincide with Sunday's Janata curfew, the railways on Friday announced cancellation of 3,700 passenger and long distance train as per the railway orders. Further, Railway Board said that the suburban rail services in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Secunderabad will be reduced to minimum level in order to cater to the essential travels in the cities. PM Narendra Modi appealed to people to adhere with the Janata Curfew on Sunday i.e. March 22 by confining themselves to their homes for 14 hours, beginning 7am as a measure against the spread of novel Covid-19 (Coronavirus in India - Live Updates).
