21 September 2020 Current Events Taj Mahal Reopens After Six Months Tourists Can Visit in Two Shifts

The 17th-century majestic architectural edifice Taj Mahal in Agra reopened this morning with the strict COVID-19 safety guidelines. The government shut the Taj Mahal for the tourists since March 17 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Another monument, Agra Fort, was closed during that period. It will reopen today as well. The Centre has issued some safety instructions that will have to be followed by the visitors while visiting the mausoleum. Masks are essential tickets that will be available only online. Only 5,000 tourists can visit the Taj Mahal in a day, which would be in two shifts, 2,500 before 2 PM and rest after that. However, at Agra Fort, only 2,500 visitors will be allowed every day.
