22 April 2019 Current Events India to keep an eye on its ocean via planes
As per recent reports, Airport Authority of India (AAI) has tied up with a US based company, Aireon, to provide India with space-based traffic surveillance system. The authorities informed that by January of the next year, they are planning to keep track of the exact positioning of all aircrafts, which will be flying above the vast stretches of the Indian ocean. They will record the data every 30 seconds. On land, the planes will be equipped with automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B) systems, such that their positioning could be beamed in every few seconds.
