Politics and sports should be separated

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on the launch of the 'National Youth Policy 2014' and 'Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan' showed his concern over involvement of politics in sports. He asked that the two should be function separately and politics should stay out of sports. Decisions regarding sports must be made by sportspersons. Sportsperson should find out the way to make sports accessible, but this can be done by giving them powers. He said that politicians must be out of sports for such all such matters. He called Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan as a game-changer because it will work on the infrastructure from the scratch and at grassroot level. It is expected that the total expenditure would be Rs 9000 crore and will be covered in the rest of 3 years of the 12th Five Year Plan and the 13th Five Year Plan. Every rural block panchayat will have an integrated sports complex and the cost of each such sport complex would be Rs 1.75 crore. It will provide the facility to play 11 outdoor and 5 indoor games. There will be at least one female trainer at each integrated sports complex. The sports complex will also work with an objective of finding good talent and to do this all necessary funds will be provided. Apart from this, funds will be given to organize special games such as competition of women, local games and Northeast area games.

Birth of Telangana is still an issue

Kiran Kuma Reddy submitted his resignation to Governor ESL Narasimhan who accepted it on Friday. Government is trying to make other arrangements and till then Reddy has been asked to work as a caretaker. But no final decision regarding this in Andhra Pradesh has been made till now by the Congress government. It is expected that the decision will be taken in the coming 24 to 36 hours. There is an immense possibility of President’s rule in the state but option of one CM for the united state cannot be ruled out. The Appointed Date when the two states will be born is likely to happen in 10 days time. But decision regarding this may also take more time. UPA government would try to take action early and that too within few days. Formation of the committee has already taken place to allocate the assets and liabilities. This will also include the all-India service officers and employees. Centre will take decision after weighing everything related to the issue of selecting the CM. Law and order may worsen on this issue, so President’s rule looks an easy option for the moment.

Rajmohan Gandhi joined the AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is getting members from all spheres of life. Well settled persons are leaving their jobs and business to join the AAP. But no one would expect anyone from Gandhi family joining the Aam Aadmi Party instead of Congress. Last Friday, grandson of Gandhi ji, Rajmohan Gandhi joined the AAP. He is a great writer and thinker. He said that his grandfather formed the party but now the Congress is just for ‘khaas aadmi’ special people. Going by the speculations it is expected that Rajmohan Gandhi would contest against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. But he may also be projected from Delhi seat. Rajmohan called contesting against Narendra Modi a long shot.  The AAP’s bold support to corruption has attracted him towards the party. Rajmohan correlates this with Gandhi’s center of attention ‘salt’ that led to the Civil Disobedience Movement. He further added that no party is perfect in today’s time. He called Congress for ‘khaas aadmi’, BJP for ‘ameer aadmi’ and thus left with AAP for ‘aam aadmi’. The reason he cited for joining the Aam Aadmi Party is its single minded focus on corruption. People as well as he are seeing some sort of hope and freshness in the party.  Reason for not joining the Congress is the performance of the party.

Narendra Modi talked about university and attack on north east students in rally

BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi has picked up the issue of attacks on the students in Delhi from North East in his rally at Ramnagar in Assam. He condemned the issues and said that all necessary security must be provided to ensure the safety. Delhi and other big cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai must have hostels for the students from North East who come for the interviews in these cities. Modi also added that online examination and interviews should be held instead of spending so much on going to these states physically. He blamed MPs for not doing this and said that these MPs do not have any idea about the rest of the country. MP from the Assam has done nothing at the Centre to resolve the issues of North East. Modi added that though he is not MP or MLA from Assam but he has travelled across the state and now fully aware of the problems. He said that both Assam and Gujarat are rich in gas reserves but Gujarat has the Petroleum University which is visited by students from Assam. He also said that he wants to open Petroleum University in Assam and institute like AIIMS in northeast.
