22 January 2019 Current Events Shivakumara Swami, the 111-year old "Walking God" dies

Monday morning saw a rush of sorrow sweep through the country, as the 111-year old revered seer of Siddaganga Mutt passed away. 

Shivakumara Swami was a well-known and respected name in India, with his philanthropy work, spanned across nearly 8 decades standing as an example for many. Suffering from a lung infection, Swami was on ventilator since a fortnight. Respected by many political leaders of the country, his death is being grieved by many. President Ramnath Kovind also offered his condolences to the countless followers.
