22 March 2019 Current Events Jet Airways Pilots Facing Salary Issues

Jet Airways has been under the debt of billion dollars, making it difficult for them to pay their lenders and aircraft lessors. Pilots have now made it clear that they won't fly from April 1 until salaries are credited.

The condition is getting worse as many pilots were spotted seeking jobs at other airlines. Sources have reported that the debt of billion dollars is responsible for their dire condition. If the airline will not be able to clear the salaries then this will lead to huge unemployment. Also, it is unclear that the State Bank Of India, which leads the group of lenders, will be able to bring any solution to the problem with immediate effect. As per the reports, SBI has asked Chairman of airlines, Naresh Goyal and his wife, along with the two other nominees to resign immediately. Rajnish Kumar, Chairman of SBI, said that from last five months they are trying their level best to improve the condition of airlines. The resolution plan was ready but due to some issues, they were not able to implement it. 1100 members have decided that they won't be flying flights if they won't be paid as they have roles and responsibilities towards their families that need to be fulfilled.
