West Bengal leads in voter's turnout in the 6th phase

West Bengal accounted for heavy voter’s turnout despite scorching heat in the state in the 6th phase of polling as much as 70% till 3pm. 47% cast their vote in Rajasthan where clashes affected polling. It was only 35.92% in Maharashtra with low voting in Mumbai. Tamil Nadu accounted for 60%, Bihar 47% and MP 50%.

Kejriwal richer than Modi as per the affidavits

In a news which is going to raise eyebrows the affidavits declared by Narendra Modi and Arvind Kejriwal reveal an interesting fact. As per media reports Kejriwal is richer than Modi as per the affidavits. At Vadodara Modi declared his asstes worth Rs 1.5 crore while Kejriwal has declared that of Rs 2.14 crore which includes his wife’s assets as well.

Nomination paper at Varanasi filed by Modi

Narendra Modi, the prime ministerial candidate of BJP today filed his nomination at Varanasi which has become a hi profile seat what with a tussle between AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Narendra Modi in the fray. As per media reports Amit Shah, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Ravi Shankar Prasad were also with Modi when he went to the District Magistrate's office.

Women gangraped by husband and his three friends

A 20 year old girl was supposedly raped by 4 men that included her husband and his three friends at Ghashipur village in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh as per media reports. The girl complained this happened on April 10. The girl’s husband has been arrested while his friends are absconding.

Markets closed today due to polls


The markets, that is equity, debt and currency remained closed today as there was polling in Mumbai today as per the media reports. Trading will begin tomorrow. Yesterday the Sensex closed at 22,876.54 that is 0.52% up after it reached the highest of 22,912.52 intraday. The NSE also ended at 0.37% at 6,840.80, it reached the highest at 6,861.60 in the day.

Indian shuttlers reach the quarterfinals of Asia Championships


In the $200,000 Badminton Asia Championships in South Korea, Indian team comprising P.V. Sindhu, R.M.V. Gurusaidutt, Ashwini Ponnappa and Jwala Gutta have reached the quarter finals as per media reports. Sindhu, ranked 10th in the world, finally defeated opponent Eriko Hirose from Japan in a match which went for 1 hour and 13 minutes.

Men talk less about women than women talk about men on Twitter


As per reports a new study has disclosed that women talk more about men on Twitter than men talking about women among themselves. In fact men featured in majority of the conversation among women than it was regarding other things. To come to this conclusion as many as 300 million tweets were analyzed using the Bechdel Test.
