24 August 2018 Current Events UIDAI makes facial recognition mandatory

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has made facial recognition mandatory for every authentication process which requires an Aadhaar. The measure is being implemented after the orders of UIDAI which issued official circulars to Authentication Service Agencies, Authentication User Agencies and certified biometric device providers. As per UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey, the authentication process which identifies an individual on the basis of fingerprints and eye scans will remain the same, the facial recognition will be counted as an additional feature to the process.

 

 


Government aims at opening a medical college and hospital in every district, says PM Modi

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated a 300-bed Gujarat Medical and Education Research Society Hospital in Junagadh, Gujarat on Thursday. The Prime Minister while addressing a public meeting after the inauguration said that his government aims at establishing a medical college and hospital in every district of the country. He further said his government also plans to set up 1.5 lakh wellness centres under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
