As per news updates, this year Delhi University has witnessed a drop of around 20,000 in its total number of applications. This data is in comparison with that of last year. Meanwhile, the news reports state that this year the University has received applications of around 2.58 lakh. Additionally, data shared by Delhi University on Sunday, June 23, 2019 stated that more number of female students have applied this year. Interestingly, BA English Honors is the most demanded courses among aspirants. The reason behind dip in applications is the introduction of the form correction option which is reducing the level of duplication. Also, CBSE announced the results a bit early this year, which gave aspirants a chance to fill forms of other universities as well. Students are smarter these days, and are very well aware of professional courses and career opportunities, which is encouraging them to break away from the traditional modes of education.
