Vishy Loses to Carlsen Again

Viswanathan Anand of India lost to Magnus Carlsen of Norway during World Chess Championship held in Russia's Sochi. Indian grand master lost to the norwegian in penultimate (11th) round. The twelfth game was wrapped by Carlsen in just 45 moves and therefore retained his title. Magnus Carlsen won the tournament by scoring 6.5 points.

OnePlus One Teaser on Amazon India

OnePlus One is going to be launched in India shortly. A picture referring to the upcoming launch of the coveted ‘flagship killer’ has been posted at Amazon India’s website. OnePlus One will be available in India through Amazon India only. The concerned image has been posted on website of the popular online retailer with the hashtag #TheOneThing, written below the image.

Arun Jaitley on Reform Mode

Arun Jaitely, Finance Minister of India, has said that the second generation reforms are all set to be unleashed during next Union Budget.  He also said that more sectors are required to be opened in India, for which three things are required to be done and they are reasonable cost of capital and stability in tax as well as policy. Arun Jaitley believes that GDP will surpass 6 per cent during 2015-16 once all the steps of reform are done.

Internal Bickering within Congress

General Secretary of INC, Digvijaya Singh, issued a statement that according to the constitution of his party any person can contest inner party election for the coveted post of President. Singh's statement came after ex-finance minister, P. Chidambaram commented that a person outside Gandhi family may become Congress President. In the meantime BJP questioned leadership qualities of Rahul Gandhi.

Burwan Blast Arrests

Police has arrested wife Fatima Begum of prime accused, Sajid, of West Bengal’s Burdwan blast. She Along with her three members of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, a banned outfit, are also arrested. Name of the other members are Mohammad Shawkat Sardar, Mohammad Ishrat Ali Sheikh, and Abdul Kazi. The arrests took place after a team of NIA investigators visited Bangladesh this November for investigation on Burdwan Blast.

BJP Woos Muslims before Polls

As two states (Jharkhand and muslim majority state Jammu & Kashmir) go to polls, BJP wanted to reach muslim community by saying that the minority community is more prosperous in India that those in Pakistan. BJP made this statement by highlighting the secular characteristic feature of India, where every citizen of the country has equal rights irrespective of where he/she is living.   

Murli Deora Passed Away at 77

Father of Congress’s young turk and former Member of Parliament Milind Deora passed away in Mumbai at 77 years of age. He was suffering from illness for quite sometime. His body was kept at Pradesh Congress office for two hours for people to pay last respects before being cremated at 4pm in Mumbai’s Chandanvadi. Late Murli Deora was not only Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister during UPA1 government but also Congress President of Mumbai for twenty two long years.

Railway Unions Desperate to Stop FDI in Railways

Two main unions of Railway - All India Railwaymen's Federation and National Federation of Indian Railwaymen – have given a unique and innovative proposal to the Government of India for stopping Foreign Direct Investment in Ralways. They have proposed the government to take Rs 10,000-crore PF of the railway workers and use it to do the necessary infrastructural works to revive the cash crunch lifeline of India. This proposal has been given by the unions to stop privatisation as well as FDI of the national career.

Adani Power Signs MoU for Buying Korba West Power at Rs. 4,200 crore

Adani Power is all set to buy Korba West Power, subsidiary of Avantha Power and Infrastructure, at a whooping cost of Rs. 4,200 crore. MoU has already being signed between the two entities. With the acquisition of this 600 mega watt plant along with 1200 mega watt Udipi power plant, the total capacity of Adani Power has increased to 11,040 mega watt. After the MoU was signed, Adani Power’s stock increased by 2 per cent  at NSE.

Union Government in Favour of Removing Entry Tax Completely

Union Government is mulling the idea to subsume products on GST. The proposal will be tabled during Winter Session of the Parliament through Constitution Amendment Bill. Political analysts believe that this proposal may meet stiff resistance from some states. Union Government has planned to abolish Etiloo completely. Finance ministry has issued statement that their objective of doing away with all types of entry taxes is to make India a common market, where goods as well as services flow freely from one place to another.

Infosys Stocks Gain

Infosys is going to allot stock dividend and bonus shares on December 3, 2014. The company had earlier, on October 10, decided to issue 1 bonus stock for every stock held by the investors. Infosys was trading 2 per cent higher at BSE during early hours of November 24, 2014. The volume of Infosys stocks (110,000) exchanged in both NSE and BSE were quite high.

Modi Hopes for a Result Oriented Session; Insurance Bill Divides Lok Sabha

Winter session of the Lok Sabha is going to be interesting as the government has decided to table many important amendments and bills during the session for going ahead with its reform plans. Indian Prime Minister reached out to all the political parties, especially opposition, by saying that the country is not run by the government only but by the cumulative effort of all the MPs. He hoped for a result oriented winter session. However, the parliament got divided on insurance bill issue.
