24 September 2018 Current Events 100th functional airport at Pakyong, Sikkim

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi inaugurated the 100th airport at Pakyong, Sikkim. The Pakyong Airport is an engineering marvel, and will be operational from 4th October, 2018. The airport is located at a height of 4,500 ft and is around 33km from the city of Gangtok. With the airport being operational, Sikkim will get its first airport. 

Spicejet will be operating daily flights from Delhi, Kolkata and Guwahati from October 4.
