24 September 2020 Current Events Punjab Farmers to Start 'Rail Roko' Agitation Against Farm Bill from Today

Farmers in Punjab will organize a three-day rail roko agitation beginning on Thursday. Since the passing of the farm sector bill in the Lok Sabha, farmers across the country are protesting against the government's decision. SAD leader and Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal resigned last week from the Modi cabinet against the farm bills' passing in the lower house. The agitating farmers think that the bills will dismantle the current Minimum Support Prince (MSP) system, and farmers will have to depend at the mercy of big corporate houses.
