India has denied permission of extended stay in the country of three Chinese journalists who are representatives of state-run Xinhua News Agency. An editorial mentioned that if India is taking revenge for the NSG membership issue by not allowing the journalists for some more time, then the consequence is going to be serious for the country. On the other hand, there is no official reason of rejection of the visa renewals.
Rajasthan High Court has acquitted Salman Khan from the 1998 chinkara poaching case. Salman Khan's sister Alvira was present with their lawyer in the Rajasthan court. Khan was accused along with seven others of killing a poaching and blackbuck in two separate cases. In 2006, Khan was convicted under the Wild Life Act for the incidences.
Former Rajya Sabha BJP MP Navjot Singh Sidhu has addressed the media at his CWG residence in New Delhi for the first time after he stepped down from his position. He mentioned that he was asked by the BJP to stay away from Punjab, and he was absolutely not in support of that as he has his roots in the state. He also mentioned that this was the fourth time something like that happened. After his resignation, speculations were there of him joining AAP, whereas, Congress leader Amarinder Singh said Sidhu can join Congress if he wants to.
