A residential 3-storey building collapsed yesterday night in Bhiwandi situated in the Thane district of Maharashtra. So far, three people have been rescued from the debris and no death reported so far. There are chances of more people being trapped under the debris. The personnel from the fire brigade, police and the disaster management department are present at the accident spot.
The Sports Authority of India (SAI) has shortlisted 734 athletes for the Khelo-India scholarship. This Khelo India Talent Development Scheme was formulated to develop sporting talent in the country. These shortlisted candidates will be given training at the government certified residential academics.
President Ram Nath Kovind will be leaving for Chhattisgarh on a two-day visit today. He will hold talks with the farmers and women self help groups working at the Integrated Farming System facility in Heeranar of Dantewara District today and in Jagdalpur located in the district of Bastar tomorrow. Today, he will also be communicating with the students of the Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram school, Saksham School as well as of the Ashta Vidya Mandir. He is also going to visit the Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Education City in Jawanga. Tomorrow, the President will address a public gathering at the Baliram Kashyap Memorial College Campus in Jagdalpur.
