Heavy rain takes a toll on 4 lives in Gujarat

The state of Gujarat is experiencing heavy rains from the past few days due to the monsoons. The situation has led to floods in several districts and towns, immobilizing traffic on roads and also interrupting train services. Four people have lost their lives in flooding and ensuing incidents in the last 48 hours.

Suryashakti Kisan Yojana launched by Gujarat Government today

The Gujarat government launched Suryashakti Kisan Yojana (SKY), a solar power scheme meant to financially benefit the farmers. According to this scheme, they will be producing the electricity for their captive consumption and selling off the excess electricity to the State power utility. This project will kick off from July 2018 in which 137 feeders will be set up covering more than 12,400 farmers from 33 districts.
