26 March 2019 Current Events Students Protested Against JNU Vice Chancellor

 

Vice Chancellor of JNU, M Jagadesh Kumar reported that some university students forcibly entered his home and they trapped his wife for several hours. It was quoted that seven students were on a hunger strike since last week. The reason for the protest was online based entrance exam that will begin from this year. He also said that despite their protest he offered them, sweets. But on Monday evening when he was away from home, they shoved inside his home and confined his wife. Later, police were called and wives of other professors came to aid her. She got traumatized with this experience and was rushed to the hospital immediately. He added that for this time they have forgiven the students and they don't expect this kind of behaviour to be repeated anytime in future.
