Heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh, death toll reaches 29


Met department has predicted heavy rain in the next 48 hours in Andhra Pradesh. People living in low-lying areas are evacuating their homes for a safer place and there is a report from the Commissioner Disaster Management that more than 72,000 people have evacuated the low-lying places. Also in the past four days death toll due to rain has gone up to 29. Rain has damaged 6,597 houses and crops spread over 5.64 lakh hectares.

Rail routes and roads have been affected badly. Traffic has been diverted on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad Highway because of it has submerged into floodwater. Also rail track at Bommayipalli on the Secunderabad-Guntur section has been damaged badly leads to the diversion of all important trains. Maximum deaths have been reported from Prakasam district (6) followed by Guntur (5), Mahabubnagar (4), Hyderabad, Kurnool (three each), Vizianagaram, East Godavari, Nalgonda and Warangal (2 each). 3.15 lakh cusecs of water has been discharged into Bay of Bengal. Relief operations are being carried out in different places by teams of National Disaster Response Force. Close to 117 minor irrigation tanks have been damaged due to heavy rain.

Babulal Nagar ready for lie-detector test


Former Rajasthan minister Babulal Nagar is ready for lie-detector test. He had been arrested on rape charges. He was charged for raping and assaulting 35 years old woman last month and arrested yesterday. A K Jain, counsel of Nagar said that Nagar and the lady had consensual relations for over three years but now she is wrongly putting allegations to conspire against his client. To provide Nagar the medicine and homemade food, an application has been moved to the CBI court for the permission of the same. Nagar is ready for narco-analysis and for this separate application has been submitted to the investing agency by Nagar. Nagar has been arrested on September 11 on charges of raping and beating up the woman. After his arrest he resigned as the Minister of Dairy, Khadi and Rural Industries in the Ashok Gehlot Government.

Tata SIA Airlines expects to take flight by June


After getting the expected regulatory clearance, the latest airline from the joint venture of the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines will start flying by June, 2014. In this joint venture Tata enjoys the share of  51% and Singapore Airlines holds 49% of stake. Prasad Menon, chairman of Tata SIA Airlines said that they are expecting an early clearance that means that they will be able to launch the airline by May-June the next year. The Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) has already given the clearance to the venture for its headquarter in India’s capital but yet some other clearances are required for the airline to fly. The aviation ministry has yet to give "no-objection certificate" to the airline. Another airline venture will also take place between the Tata Group and Malaysia-based budget carrier AirAsia. Its operations are expected to start early in 2014. Earlier Indian aviation sector was part of country’s economy but seen downfall due to aggressive fair rivalry and costly fuel. But investors are again exploring the massive aviation market of India.

India and Australia fifth ODI called off, Tickets to refund from 8th to 15th November


Umpires have done formal inspection and officially called off the fifth one-day international match between India and Australia. Recently because of low-pressure in the Andhra-Telengana region, the region is receiving a constant rain. Because of the weather and rain, the Orissa Cricket Association had already announced the dates to refund the sold tickets. To get the refund of tickets you can reach at the three ticket counters of the Barabati Stadium between 10 a.m. to 5 p.m from 8th to 15th November. But after some sunshine Umpires Nigel Llong, S Ravi and C Shamsuddin inspected the ground at 11 a.m and found that the outfield was not in the condition to play a match. Therefore, OCA secretary Asirbad Behera formally announced the cancellation of the match and said that pitch is in a good condition but outfield is not. It is damp and soggy at many places. It needs sunshine of four days to get completely prepared for the match. Both the teams were at Bhubaneswar as only officials have come to make the announcement. Tickets for the entire stadium with capacity of 45,000 spectators were sold out but no spectator came for the match. This is the second match in a row that has been called off due to rain in the East zone. Last match that was called off was about 17 years back on October 27, 1996. In the present ODI the seven match bilateral series, Aussies were leading the series by 2-1. For India it is now difficult to win the series as now India has to win the remaining two matches that are going to held in Nagpur (October 30) and Bangalore (November 2).

British publication at House of Commons is going to honour Kareena Kapoor


Kareena Kapoor Khan has contributed to the global entertainment industry and for this she will be honoured by Asian Sunday newspaper and Members of Parliament. Newspaper is going to launch its London edition at House of Commons on 29th October and Kareena will be honoured on the same occasion by Cross-party politicians on the behalf of the British government. Some other celebrities are also going to be honoured because of their contribution to entertainment industry by the Asian Sunday and members of Bradford Metropolitan District Council and the list includes Dynamo (AKA Steven Frayne, Dynamo: Magician Impossible) alongside Kimberley Walsh (singer-songwriter, model, television presenter, actress and band member of Girls Aloud). On this occasion MPs from London, VIPs and dignitaries will also be present. In addition to them, influential business personalities and influencers from media sector will also mark the occasion.

Delay in the launch of Google's Nexus 5, Android 4.4 KitKat


Google was about to launch the Nexus 5 smartphone and Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system but the launch has been delayed by a month’s period. Reports from the media and KitKat’s Twitter account were pointing towards the expected date of launch, 28th October. Google on its Play Store has revealed the pricing details of the Nexus 5. It has been said that LG's curved smartphone G Flex that operates on the latest Android OS may be the reason of this delay. Its delay might have affected the delay in other products as well. But neither Google nor LG has spoken on the issue. Reports on Android KitKat reveal that it would have a complete new design and user interface. Along with own printing options, a new wireless NFC payment system has also been provided within the setting of the new OS. User can also save images in PDF files on the device. It has also been said that Google will also reveal Nexus 10 tablet along with the Nexus 5 and Android KitKat. Also according to the rumors Asus is going to come up with the tablet.
