26 October 2018 Current Events Supreme Court bans Bharat Stage 4 vehicles from April 1, 2020

The Supreme Court on Wednesday banned the sale of Bharat Stage 4 vehicles across the country with effect from 1 April 2020. As per the court, these days the pollution levels are alarming and there is a need to regulate the output of air pollutants from the motor vehicles. A three-judge bench headed by Justice Madan B Lokur has decided that only BS_VI compliant vehicle will be sold in the country from 1 April 2020. 


PM Modi to visit Japan on October 28 for a two-day visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to attend the 13th India Japan annual summit on October 28. As per the Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, the Prime Minister will hold bilateral talks with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe in the meeting. Also, discussions over issues of defence and regional security will be held. Several agreements are expected to be signed after the meeting by both countries. The Indo-Pacific region will also be a major topic of discussion for the meeting.
