Kashmir: Heavy gunfight between militants and security forces continues in Baramulla

A fierce gunfight between security forces and militants in Kashmir's Baramulla district started on Friday. The security forces had surrounded Khonchipora village in Tangmarg area on  Thursday night after receiving information that two militants were hiding in the village. As the security forces moved closer to a house on Friday morning where the militants were hiding, the latter started heavy gunfire.

Rafale deal can be concluded in June: Parrikar

Union Defence Minister, Manohar Parikar has expressed hope of concluding the Rs. 59,500-crore  deal for the 36 French Rafale fighters by the edn of June. The deal, whi is stuck for more than year, is expected to be concluded next month. According to Parikar, some loose ends have to be tied up. He also said that the inter-governmental agreement (IGA) will ensure that anything covered under it has to be executed by both the governments.
