DDA will start handling over flats in Dwarka from 1 January

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) will start handling over DDA flats to the allottees of Dwarka from 1 January. The allottees of Narela area will start receiving these from 15 January and allottees of Rohini will receive them from 25 January. The process of allotting flats will continue till 31 January except for the some flats in Rohini and Sirsapur area. As per the scheme that ended on 15 October, DDA offered 25,034 flats including EWS, LIG, MIG, HIG, Janta flats and one-room apartments with cost ranging from Rs 7 lakh to 1.2 crore.

Raghubar Das is the new CM of Jharkhand

The Bharatiya Janata Party's leader Raghubar Das is now the new and the tenth CM of Jharkhand. Oath taking ceremony took place at 11 a.m. at Ranchi's Morabadi ground. Das has become the first non-tribal CM of the state. The ceremony was expected to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, party president Amit Shah and chief ministers of few other states ruled by the BJP. But PM Modi and party president could not able to make it because of bad weather. PM Modi congratulated him on Twitter.

People and J&K will be a part of decision making – PDP president Mehbooba Mufti

People's Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday said that before taking any decision on forming a government in Jammu and Kashmir, political aspiration and economic interest of the state will be taken into account. She said that people of the state will also take part in this decision making process. Though PDP is not saying anything but some of the senior leaders are in the favour of forming a coalition government with the BJP.

PM Modi asks ministries to prefer Indian manufactured electronic goods

To push PM Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' drive the government issued a strict notice for ministries asking them to prefer Indian manufactured electronic goods. In a decision by a committee of secretaries, all the ministries and departments will list out department-specific domestically manufactured electronic products. They will then send notification within a fortnight. Presently manufacturing sector has 15% share in the Indian economy but PM Modi has vowed to take this share to 25%. Industry leaders are welcoming this move.

Apple and Reliance likely to launch a plan of zero down-payment for iPhone 6

Apple and Reliance will soon be coming up with a plan of a zero down-payment clubbed with EMI option for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. Earlier Apple was not keen to take this decision but most likely it will rethink and might take decision in the first quarter of 2015. In case the decision is taken, user can then purchase iPhone 6 by paying Rs 3099 per month over the period of two years.

Ankita Raina wins ITF women's singles title

India’s Ankita Raina defeated 19-year-old British rival Katy Dunne 6-2 6-2 to win her first $25,000 ITF singles title at the Deccan Gymkhana in Pune. Ankita expressed her happiness for being the first woman to bring the title to India after 14 years. This gives Ankita 50 WTA points and a price money of $3,919. 294 ranked Ankita also said that she wants to improve her world ranking and her aim is to reach 200 this year.
