28 June 2018 Current Events 5 people dead after small plane crashes in Mumbai

Five people succumbed to death after a small plane crashed into a construction site near Ghatkopar in Mumbai today afternoon. The plane was about to land at the Mumbai airport. The incident killed two pilots and two maintenance engineers who were on board when the plane crashed, and one man who was present at the incident site.

The Amarnath Yatra has been put on hold in Kashmir due to continuous rains today morning. Around 3,000 yatris were disappointed as they have been asked to stay in their tents. The yatris arrived at the Baltal and Pahalgam base camps in Kashmir yesterday to start the yatra today morning.

The social security schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, and Atal Pension Yojana launched by the Modi government have benefited 50 crore Indians. Under the financial inclusion programme Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, about 28 crore new bank accounts have been opened in which women also constituted a major part. About one crore subscribers have enrolled themselves in the assured minimum pension scheme Atal Pension Yojana. The government scheme Pradhan Mantri Vaya Vandana Yojana was launched for the benefit of the citizens aged 60 years and above from which more than 3 lakh people benefited.
