Opposition gathering signatures to seek impeachment of Justice Dipak Misra

Congress is making efforts to bring impeachment motion in the parliament against Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra and is backed by several opposition parties. Majeed Memon of National Congress Party(NCP) has collected 20 signatures so far. More leaders including Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kapil Sibal, and Ahmed Patel have signed the petition.

Income Tax Offices to remain open from March 29 to March 31

Income Tax Offices are going to remain open from March 29 to March 31 throughout India despite being the holidays for the filing of Income Tax Returns and completion of associated work. The Finance Ministry has said it will make all efforts to provide assistance to taxpayers.This is to facilitate the filing of returns by them. The last date for filing the returns is March 31.

PAN Aadhaar linking deadline extended till June 30

The PAN-Aadhaar linking deadline has been extended to June 30 by the Central Board of Direct Taxes(CBDT). Earlier the date was March 31 but as the policy-making body of the tax department issued an order on Tuesday, the change was made. This is considered to be the fourth extension from the government to the individuals to link their Permanent Account Number (PAN) with their biometric ID Aadhaar.
