Tejpal requests for 2 days time to appear before the police, Shoma Chaudhary resigns


Tarun Tejpal, Tehelka founder and editor has asked for two days extra time for him to be present before Goa Police to respond to the charges of sexual assault against him. On the other hand Shoma Chaudhury, Tehelka’s managing editor resigned today. Tejpal was to be there at the police station by 3pm but he asked for time till Saturday. He specified that he had received the summons late yesterday and also added that the verdict concerning his anticipatory bail application was pending in the Delhi High Court Friday. He has stated he will fully cooperate in the investigation. Chaudhary resigned 10 days after the woman journalist sent her a mail informing about the sexual assault. She said she had taken some actions as a response to the mail.

7 years of rigorous imprisonment for Abu Salem in fake passport case

A special court in Hyderabad has pronounced the sentence for the gangster Abu Salem which seven years of rigorous imprisonment for the fake passport case in 2001. The CBI court convicted Salem on November 18 for criminal conspiracy, forgery and cheating. Salem who was extradited from Portugal had acquired passport in the fake name and address from Kurnool in 2001. Salem was brought from Mumbai and was there in the court. After the judgment was given he was flown back to Mumbai. The charges on him are under various sections of the IPC that is• 120-B (criminal conspiracy)• 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating)• 419 (cheating by personation)• 471 (using as genuine a forged document)Salem has finished 6 years of imprisonment in the case. It was found out that he got the help of government officials for the fake passports for himself, his wife and his girlfriend. He got the passport under the fictitious name of Ramil Kamal Malik.

Rs.10.4 trillion bond funding needed for Infra and banking: CRISIL

Funding of Rs.10.4 trillion will be required for banking and infrastructure sector from the bond market for the following five years, as per the report submitted by CRISIL. This means an average of Rs.2.1 trillion will be required per year which is 60% more than what these sectors issued on an average in the past three years. CRISIL has brought out a research report on Indian debt market which seeks for enhanced regulation and emphasis on strengthening the bond market, development of credit-enhancement measures for infrastructure projects, and creating investor demand for banks’ non-equity capital. Indian bond market has shown substantial development in the recent times. Infrastructure sector will be requiring Rs.7 trillion from the bond market in the next five years, and Rs.3.4 trillion non-equity capitals will be required by the bank under the Basel III regulations till March 2018.

Dhawan creates record


India not only grabbed the series. There was more to cheer for as Shikhar Dhawan became the first player to strike 5 tons in the ODIs. He also was the only player to smash 20 fours in the ODIs in this year. India will tour South Africa in December. It is helpful for the team that its players are in good form like Yuvraj Singh who made 50 and Rohit Sharma who clicked well with the bat. Moreover, Dhoni has been playing well too. Dhawan has been writing his success story since he returned to the team. Dhoni also stated that this time the bowlers have done very well compared to how they performed in the series against Australia.
