28 November 2019 Current Events Air India will Shut Down If Not Privatised

On Wednesday, Hardeep Singh Puri, civil aviation minister says in Rajya Sabha that Air India will have to cease operation if not privatised. He further said that the government is staunched on securing a fair deal for all the present employees of the state-owned carrier. Government is working on the finalisation of the invitation of the bids. The sale of Air India is important for present Prime Minister Narendra Modi in order to bridge a "widening fiscal deficit" intensified by dismal tax collections and a $20 billion corporate tax cut.
