Life is returning back to normalcy in Tamil Nadu

Life in Tamil Nadu is coming back to normal after sporadic incidences of violence in the state because of the arrest of AIADMK general secretary and Tamil Nadi Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. Bus service was suspended in many parts of the state but the service has now been resumed in phases except for inter-state bus services to Bangalore. Supporters of Jayalalithaa who asked the shops to remain closed in certain areas are not open. Commercial establishments including hotels were open in Chennai. Police have been deployed in sensitive regions of the state. As per media report no major untoward incident has been reported so far in Tamil Nadu.

Justice HL Dattu appointed as 42nd Chief Justice of India

Justice HL Dattu has been appointed as the 42nd Chief Justice of India. President Pranab Mukherjee administered the oath of office on Sunday in Darbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. The earlier Chief Justice of India RM Lodha demitted office on 27th September. Justice HL Dattu's term will end on December 2, 2015. He also served many prestigious positions such as judge of the apex court, the Chief Justice of Kerala, the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh high court and a judge of the Karnataka high court.

Inflation is still high, RBI is unlikely to cut interest rates

It is expected that the Reserve Bank of India will not cut the interest rate in its upcoming monetary policy review this week as retail inflation continues to be very high. On September 30 the RBI is going to disclose its fourth bi-monthly policy. The Central Bank bank is monitoring consumer price index (CPI) very closely. CPI has been showing a declining trend for the past few months but still out of comfort zone. Also some ease has been noticed in the wholesale price index (WPI). But as per bank experts it is not the right time for rate cut.

Khushbir Kaur wins silver medal in Race Walk

Khushbir Kaur became the first India woman to win silver medal in a 20km Race Walk in the Asian Games. 21 years-old Khushbir Kaur completed the walk in 1:33:07 and performed better than her personal best of 1:33:37 which was the national record. Lu Xiuzhi of China who won the Gold medal took 1:31:06 to complete the walk at the Marathon Course in Incheon.

Veteran actor Shashi Kapoor discharged from hospital

Veteran Actor of yesteryear Shashi Kapoor has been discharged from the hospital. Kapoor was hospitalized on Sep 21 at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and Medical Research Institute for chest infection. As per media report 76-year-old actor is fine and happy to be back home. Shashi Kapoor has worked in many Hindi films and some of his renowned work is “Deewar”, “Satyam Shivam Sundaram” and “Kabhie Kabhie”.

Xiaomi Mi 3 is likely to comeback for sale during Diwali in India

As per media report much in demand Xiaomi Mi 3 smartphone will again be available in India during this Diwali season. Xiaomi Mi 3 was not officially available for sale in India and potential customers are now waiting for the same. Xiaomi’s India Head, Manu Jain talked about the availability of Xiaomi Mi 3 at a conference held in Banglore. In the previous sale batch consisting of 10,000 units were offered for sale and within a month's period company sold around 100000 smartphones. The Xiaomi Redmi 1S was offered in large number, so its sale went much higher. It is expected that Xiaomi Mi 3 will also be available in large numbers.
