Employees likely to receive interest on inactive EPF accounts

A whopping count of organised sector employees may start receiving interest payments on their inoperative employees provident fund (EPF) savings. Today, the government would be reviewing the four-year old decision wherein it had barred the inoperative employees provident fund (EPF) accounts from earning interest. Currently, there are close to 40 million accounts out of a total of 150 million that are inactive with Rs. 27,000 crores worth of deposits in them.

Samsung Gear S2 Classic series launched in India

Samsung Gear S2 Classic has now been launched in India in more than three variants viz: the white version, the 18K Gold plated version and the Platinum version. While the Samsung Gear S2 White version is available at a price of Rs. 24,300; the gold and platinum versions can be purchased by paying a sum of Rs. 34,900. All the three versions are readily available across all Samsung retail outlets.

Gujarat named the most film-friendly Indian state

At the 63rd National Film Awards ceremony held yesterday, Gujarat was named as the most film-friendly state with more than 100 non-Gujarati feature films been shot in the state in the last three years. Films in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bjohpuri and Bengali have been shot in Gujarat with Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan’s much-awaited ‘Raees’ also having scenes shot in Kutch.

Zaheer Khan appointed as Delhi Daredevils Captain for IPL 2016

Former India fast bowler Zaheer Khan has been appointed as the captain of Delhi Daredevils team for the upcoming 9th edition of the Indian Premier League 2016. Playing for Delhi Daredevils for the second successive season, Zaheer is India’s best left-arm pace bowler and had earlier this season retired from international cricket. He has played 92 Tests with 311 wickets and took 282 ODI wickets in 200 matches. Additionally, he has also played 17 Twenty20 International for India.
