29 May 2019 Current Events Modi government initiates road plans

Results of Lok Sabha elections 2019 were declared on May 23, 2019, Thursday. Moreover, in elections this time, BJP led by getting control over the maximum number of seats, forming the new government. The current news state that the Modi government has already begun creating plans and strategies for improving the condition of roads and infrastructure. Meanwhile, the task is assigned to the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, which is currently aiming to build national highways of around 1,000 km. This goal needs to be achieved within the span of 100 days of the newly formed government. Additionally, in the meeting which was conducted on Monday, May 27, 2019, transport ministry's secretary, Sanjeev Ranjan, through his presentation, disclosed the set target for 2019. He stated that the ministry is currently aiming to construct 6020 km of roads, that will have an estimated cost of Rs 86,660 crore, during the financial year 2019-20.
