MOM process more efficient than MAVEN: Isro

There would be comparisons between Nasa’s Mars Atmosphere and Volatile EvolutioN (MAVEN) and Isro’s Mars Orbiter Misison (MOM) though the former was launched 13 days prior to the latter. The next 300 days these two spacecrafts from India and the US will be compared. MAVEN will reach Mars on Septmber 21, 2014 while MOM will on September 24, 2014. MOM will be carrying trans-mars injection procedure which MAVEN will not as MAVEN has directly been positioned on Mars unlike MOM. Isro scientists consider their process more effective than what NASA is following. The reason specified is that MAVEN will have only one chance to get in Mar’s orbit and if it fails then it will not have any other scope. But Isro’s MOM after reaching on September 24 will get one more chance after three days. Earlier too missions on Mars have failed because of this stage when a spacecraft reaches near Mars it is put in orbit by bombarding the liquid engine. Russia was not successful for 10 times, US six times in this stage.
