29 November 2018 Current Events Rupee strengthens; US Dollar's per Rupee value under 70 for the first time in months

With situations looking better for the Indian Rupee this morning, the currency strengthened beyond 70 for the first time since August. So far, INR has strengthened by about 6 per cent, compared to its all-time low of 74.48.

According to experts, the US currency has slightly weakened in the global market, giving our local currency the needed boost.


India not to end SAARC meet; Pak must stop terror first, says Sushma Swaraj

India's Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has given a stern statement that India will not be attending the upcoming SAARC summit in Pakistan.

The remark came in relation to the Kartarpur corridor. "See, bilateral dialogues and Kartarpur corridor are two different things… The bilateral talks always say that terror and talks can't go together. The moment Pakistan stops terrorist activities in India, the dialogue can start", said Swaraj. Earlier, Sushma Swaraj had declined Pakistan's invitation to come for the foundation ceremony of Kartarpur corridor, citing prior appointments.
