30 December 2017 Current Events Palestine ambassador to Pakistan shares stage with Hafiz Saeed in Rawalpindi

Palestine's envoy to Pakistan, Walid Abu Ali, shared the stage with Mumbai terror attack mastermind and Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief, Hafiz Saeed, on Friday at Rawalpindi Rally. The rally was arranged to condemn the move of the US of recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. This move of the Palestinian ambassador has highly angered the External Affairs Ministry as the happening took place in less than 10 days after India joined 127 other members of the United Nations, who have not supported the decision of US President Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.


4 Indians in Nigerian custody released after the intervention of Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, says Sushma Swaraj

Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj informed that 4 Indians who were kept in Nigerian custody have been released after the intervention of Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, BN Reddy. Swaraj tweeted and thanked the Nigerian authorities for their cooperation. It was reported they were kept in Lagos for the past three months.


Lok Sabha Passes Triple Talaq bill, opposition parties make minimal protests

Triple talaq or the practice of Talaq-e-biddat, commonly known as Instant Triple Talaq was outlawed by the Lok Sabha on Thursday. The opposition parties demanded to send the Bill to a standing committee for more thorough consideration. They did not oppose in unity, however, when the bill was taken up for voting towards the end of discussion.
