30 May 2016 Current Events No consensus yet on full statehood to Delhi: Venkaiah Naidu

Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu said that there has been no consensus yet on the issue of full statehood to Delhi. On 18 May, the AAP government had released a draft bill on full statehood to Delhi. It sought to bring police, municipal corporations and bureaucracy under its control. The party also invited suggestions from the public till 30 June.

 


Over 4,700 acres of Sahara land up for sale

In what is termed as the biggest sale of land across India, more than 4,700 acres held by the Sahara Group in 14 states have been put sale by HDFC Realty and SBI Capital Markets. With the selling of these lands, the banks are likely to recover around Rs. 6,500 crore. According to Sahara, it has a total land bank of 33,633 acres. 

 


Khalistan Group sets up terror camp in Canada to plot attacks in Punjab

Intelligence agencies in India have got a tip off on Khalisan Terror Force (KTF) training in Canada to launch terror attacks in Punjab. The Intel agencies have reportedly informed the Canadian government about the developments. According to reports, Canadian Sikh Hardeep Nijjar has taken over as the operational head of KTF. He has formed a module of Sikh youths to carry out the attacks.
