<\/h2>\nAround fourteen civilians have been reported killed in a day-time terror attack at a weekly market at Balajan Tinali, in north-eastern state Assam\u2019s Kokrajhar on August 5, 2016, in what could be the first of its kind incident of firing on people at a public place.<\/p>\n
With a total of 29 casualties, fifteen civilians are reported wounded and injured in the incident.<\/p>\n
In a retaliation that lasted for over 15 minutes and left the attacker dead, an AK-47 has been recovered. Aside from the modern artillery, the terrorist additionally hurled a grenade destructing completely three local shops in the area.<\/p>\n
With the Independence Day just round the corner, the militancy-inflicted state was on a high-alert. The army is said to be searching for the remaining terrorists, following reports that the incident could not have been possible without the involvement of a couple of more aides. It is said that the attack was carried out by the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (Songbijit).<\/p>\n
Assam chief minister Sarabananda Sonowal has spoken to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after the incident.<\/p>\n
