100 dead in train accident in Kanpur<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
At least 100 people were killed when 14 coaches of the Indore-Patna express train derailed in Kanpur Dehat district. As per media reports, around 226 people were injured, 76 of them in a serious condition, in the accident which occurred near Pukhrayan area. As per railway officials, the number of casualties may rise. Meanwhile, a probe has been ordered by Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu. An ex-gratia of 3.5 lakh has been announced for the families of those killed in the accident and Rs 50,000 for those who have been seriously injured.<\/p>\n
