Indian automotive Industry is going through its darkest phase; it has seen a gradual decline in sales since the past year. It is the worst slowdown auto industry has seen in two decades. August marks itself as the ninth straight month of vehicle sales declining.

First Honda and now Ford have announced various discounts and offers, and companies are trying every tactic in the book to attract customers during this period of financial crisis.

Ford India has announced numerous discounts and benefits like exchange bonuses and lower finance rates, due to the continuous decline in sales. Discounts are being given on select models across all their dealerships in the country.

Ford Aspire

Aspire has a 96hp, 1.2 liter petrol engine with 6- speed manual transmission. It is also available in 123hp, 1.5 liter diesel variant with automatic gearbox. Dealerships are offering discounts up to Rs. Thirty thousand on Ford Aspire.

Ford Ecosport

No discount, cash back or exchange offer is available on this model, but the dealerships are giving away a 7.9 percent finance scheme instead of the usual 9 to 10 percent. Ecosport shares the same engine as the Aspire, a 123 hp 1.5 liter petrol, 128 hp 1 liter turbo petrol and a 100 hp, 1.5 liter diesel engine.

Ford Freestyle

This car offers 86 hp, 1.3 liter petrol engine and a 100 hp 1.5 liter diesel engine. Dealerships across the country are giving huge discounts and benefits and one can save up to Rs. 25,000 on this model.

Ford Figo

Figo has the same finance schemes on offer as available on the Ford Ecosport. The Ford Figo comes with 1.2 liter petrol and a 1.5 liter diesel engines. It has recently undergone a makeover in which the designs were tweaked a little to give it a fresh new look. The hatchback competes with Hyundai’s Grand i10 and Grand i10 Nios, Maruti Suzuki Swift and Honda Brio in the market.

Ford’s Mustang and Endeavour are not officially on the discount list but you can avail dealer level benefits if you haggle well at the dealership.

Meanwhile, Honda dealerships across the country have also started various offers and discounts during the month of June to boost their sales. Their discounts vary from Rs. 24,000 to 115,000 depending on the model of the car.

Honda BR-V

This is a seven seater Honda which comes with a 1.5 liter petrol and 1.2 liter diesel engine with 119 hp and 110 hp respectively. Both models come with a six speed manual transmission. Offers and discounts of up to 115,000 are given on this car.

Honda City

Honda’s best seller, which competes with cars like Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Toyota Yaris etc. in the midsize sedan market, has a 1.5 liter petrol engine and diesel engine and a six speed manual gearbox, same as Honda BR-V. Discount and benefits like cash back and exchange offer up to Rs. 62,000 are available for this model.

Honda Jazz

Jazz has a 90hp, 1.2 liter petrol engine with a six speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission. Whereas, the diesel engine has a capacity of 1.5 liters with 100 hp. The diesel variant comes with a six speed manual gearbox. Discounts and various offers up to Rs. 50,000 are offered by dealerships across the nation.

Honda WR-V

Quite similar to Jazz, it has a 1.2 liter petrol engine with 90hp and a 1.5 liter diesel engine with 100 hp. The gearbox comes only with a six speed manual transmission option. Dealerships are offering discounts and benefits up to Rs. 40,000 depending on whichever variant one chooses to buy.

Honda Amaze

Amaze has a 1.5 liter diesel engine and a 1.2 liter petrol engine. They both have a five speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic gearbox. Discounts of up to Rs 42,000 are offered on this model.

Honda Civic

Civic offers a 1.8 liter petrol engine with a horse power of 141 and a diesel engine with a capacity of 1.6 liter with 120 hp. Gearbox options include seven speed CVT automatic in both variants and six speed manual transmission in the diesel option. Discounts up to Rs 30,000 are available for the Honda Civic.

Honda Brio

As Honda Brio faces discontinuation of production, the dealerships are offering stock clearance discounts and benefits before the new safety norms come into being. It only comes in an 88 hp 1.2 liter petrol engine with a five speed manual gearbox.

These offers might vary in different cities and different dealerships. One should check out various dealerships within the city and at least within 25 km radius to avail best offers.
