Pathaan, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, is already creating ripples at the box office ahead of its January 25 launch. Because of SRK’s magnetism and the buzz around Pathaan, some theatres closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak were reopened. Its pre-booking started on January 20, and the movie sold over 5 lakh seats on the very first day alone. According to the Indian Express, Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “This proves people want to watch a big entertainer on the big screen only.” Pathaan is directed by Siddharth Anand and is produced by YRF.
Owing to the Covid-19 crisis, many cinemas, particularly single-screen locations, permanently shuttered their doors as they struggled to operate. However, Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan is not just resurrecting Bollywood but also single-screen cinemas.
According to recent reports, Pathan will be exhibited in 25 single-screen theatres permanently closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Pathaan’s early ticketing is on fire with only a few hours to go. According to the most recent figures, the movie has sold over 5 lakh tickets in only three National Cinema chains. For the first day, it has already surpassed the final national chain ticket purchases of Bharat, PRDP, TOH, Sultan, Dangal, and Brahmastra. The SRK film reportedly reached the Rs 20 crore milestone in pre-bookings on its opening day on January 23 and may break KGF 2’s milestone of 5.15 lakhs. BookMyShow, an online ticketing site, has stated that it has sold over 1 million passes in early sales.

Siddharth has previously stated that filming Shah Rukh was a huge responsibility due to the high expectations. According to the Indian Express, The filmmaker said in a statement, “Directing SRK is a responsibility and it’s even greater now because of the break that he had taken and that has created immense expectations and excitement with his audience. I am realising now, towards the end and into the release of the film, what and how large that fan base is. So yeah, that is an amazing feeling and it’s somewhere exciting because we know that we have hopefully made a film that they will be happy and proud of.”
