What’s new at the 2018 Auto Expo

The 2018 Auto Expo will see new models ranging from the affordable to the high-end and luxury ones. Also on display would be compact vehicles, electric cars, and hybrid vehicles.

The 14th edition of the event would see a separate zone that would showcase the innovation of start-ups, mainly in the electric vehicles. The expo will also have Experience Zones. While one will showcase a Jaipur NGO Cartist, the other would be the Future Decoded (VR zone). Other than this, thee would be thirteen participants in the passenger vehicle segment. But, some big names would be missing in the 2018 Auto Expo. Some companies that have decided not to participate this year are Ford, Volkswagen, Nissan, and Fiat Chrysler. The two-wheeler segment would see that participation of more than 23 companies, while there would be 15 commercial vehicle manufacturers.

It seems that electric vehicles will be an attraction at the show. India’s premium auto manufacturers, Maruti will showcase the concept e-Survivor, which is a futuristic concept. Also on display from the company would be the next-gen hybrid technology. Hyundai Motors, which will be unveiling an electric vehicle in India in 2019, will showcase vehicles from the Ionic range. Toyota, another top manufacturer, will showcase an electric vehicle, along with a plug-in hybrid and two hybrids. World’s leading manufacturers such as Renault, BMW, and Mercedes, along with Indian players including Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra will be showcasing electric vehicles.

However, electric vehicles are not only limited to cars alone, there will also be a lot of jaw-dropping two-wheelers on display. Some models in the two-wheelers segment that would add glitter to the show are Hero AXHLE-20, an electric scooter from Hero; TVS Proto, an electric scooter from TVS; Twenty Two Motors Flow; UM Renegade Thor; Emflux one, and many others.
