India thrashes Bangladesh and goes 1-0 up in series

As expected before the series that Bangladesh is not going to challenge the formidable Indian side. When a team is on the peak then toss, pitch conditions or weather does not matter. The new team plays to win. At present India has been dominating in Test cricket. Not to talk of any team, now even world eleven would struggle to play on Indian pitches.

Emphatic victory

The first Test, as expected, ended within three days. The host outclassed the visitors by an innings and 130 runs in the Indore Test on Saturday to register their sixth consecutive win in Tests. India has taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match series. The second Test will be a day-night fixture to be played at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata from November 22.

Bangladesh clueless

Team India outclassed Bangladesh in every department of the game. They were clueless throughout the Test. Indian bowlers exposed the visitors batting quickly and wrapped up Bangladesh in just 150 runs in the first innings. Credit should be given to fast bowlers, and ably supported by the spinner of the team Ashwin. All the pacers bowled superbly and never allowed their nemesis to settle down.

Mayank scores a double ton

After the bowlers’ show, batsmen did not disappoint the team management. The poster boy of Indian cricket and the run-machine Mayank Agarwal once again played a serious knock of 243 runs and set the platform for an innings win for India. Senior Indian batsmen fully supported to this new sensational opener. India wanted to wrap up the Test early, so Kohli declared the innings at 493 for 6.

Fast bowlers happy

After the win, Ishant Sharma said– “I am not treated as a senior, we don’t have anything like that. We always enjoy each other’s success, speak with each other and try and share our plans.

Mohammed Shami was elated with this win and said “The more we get tired, the better fun we have. Umesh Yadav was satisfied with his performance and said “I learnt from my father in my childhood to be strong.

Pacers too hot to handle

Bangladesh had no answer against the quality Indian bowling. Indian bowlers bundled out the visitors in just 213 runs in the second innings, that was not a solid performance from the visitors to avoid an innings defeat. All the frontline Indian bowlers had wickets in their kitty. Indian speedsters proved too hot to handle for their batsmen. Mayank Agarwal was adjudged man of the match for his heroic double ton in Indore Test.

India maintains a 100% record

With this victory, India has continued its 100 per cent winning record in the World Test Championship. The second Test, which is a day-night affair seems to be another cakewalk for the home team. Beating India on its backyard is not a cup of tea for a team like Bangladesh. Playing Test cricket need full concentration, patience and presence of mind on the field, which is lacking in this Bangladeshi side.

Despite getting out on zero, Kohli’s captaincy was worth praising. He marshalled his troops admirably. He has broken the record of MS Dhoni and becoming the most innings winning Indian captain.
