Delhi has a serious dearth of places where one can get a decent tenderloin burger or steak. Chili’s has definitely bridged that gap for the city and is my go to place when I’m craving a good steak, the way it ought to be. Getting straight at the food, for starters we ordered their Triple Dipper and Bottomless Tostada Chips. The triple dipper is a platter of chicken crispers, chicken wings and Southwestern Rolls served along with a trio of creamy dips. The chicken crispers were a tad too oily and can fill you up pretty fast, the chicken wings were tangy and perfect, though the Southwestern Rolls were unimpressive and lacking flavour. On the whole, a 6 on 10 for the Triple Dipper. The best thing about the Tostada Chips is that they are bottomless, which means you can order unlimited helpings of the chips (which pretty much resembled plain papad) and which are served with a sinfully rich and creamy cheesy, spinach dip. Be careful while ordering refills of the chips, or you will be too full for your main course.

For the main course we ordered their Bacon Burger which was essentially a beef patty (buffalo meat) with a layer of cheese and bacon. Juicy to the core and an absolute delight! A 9 on 10 for the Bacon Burger. Also on our main course was a Tenderloin Steak, which we had done to a “medium rare”. Overcooking is something we Indians love to indulge in and most people love to have their steak “well done”, not knowing that once a steak is cooked to the maximum, it loses most of its juices and flavour. Chili’s did justice to my steak and it was rich in flavour, chewy and juicy. You get to choose the sides you want with your steak as well. I decided to go with the mashed potatoes and seasoned steamed vegetables. A 9 on 10 for the steak. We also ordered their Jambalaya, which is nothing but a Caribbean pulao. Essentially rice with meat and vegetables, the Jambalaya we were served was nothing but a lumpy, dry and tasteless pulao, with bits of chicken, bacon, vegetables and shrimp thrown it. An absolute disaster! 4 on 10 for the Jambalaya.

For dessert we ordered their Southern Peach Bread Pudding, which was absolutely delicious. I have always been very fond of bread pudding and the Chili’s version was an absolute delight! The Bread Pudding was basically peach bread pudding, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, drizzled with passion fruit syrup and topped with nuts and was just a perfect end to our meal. 10 on 10 for the Southern Peach Bread Pudding.

Will I go back to Chili’s? Chili’s prices are not quite pocket friendly and set you back quite a bit by the time you’re done with the meal. Even though I love their food, I would definitely go back, but only occasionally, not regularly.
