I’m pretty sure all chicken lovers would have had this on one of the street shops or fast food joints across India. Fried Chicken preserves the moistness in the meat and makes it a great dish to serve in starters or main course. I also like to serve it along with soda or a chili ketchup as perfect accompaniments. All you need is (serves 4)

Chicken legs – 4 to 6

Oil for frying

For Marination

Whisked dahi – 1 cup

Salt – 1 tsp

Ginger & garlic paste – 1 tsp

Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp

Lemon juice – 1 tsp

For Dry Mixture

Maida – 1 & 1/2 cup

Salt – 1 tsp

Garlic powder – 1 tsp

Black pepper powder – 1/2 tsp

Bread crumbs powder – 1/4 tsp

For Batter

Maida – 1 & 1/2 cup

Eggs – 2

Black pepper powder – 1 tsp

Red chili powder – 1 tsp

Ginger & garlic paste – 1 tsp

Fried Chicken Recipe

Preparation time: 10 min.

Cooking time: 30 min.

Make cuts in the chicken.

Mix all ingredients for the marination, apply all over chicken, cover and keep for an hour.

In a plate mix all ingredients for the dry mixture. Keep aside.

In a bowl mix all ingredients for the batter. Keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan.

Roll the chicken in the dry mixture, dip it in the batter and again roll it in the dry mixture.

Deep fry for 15-20 min or until golden brown.

Drain on a kitchen tissue.

Serve hot.
