Most of us are fond of Parathas that come in varieties and can be differentiated based on kind of dough used, however, wheat being most common here. These are also named as per the filling – aalo paratha, paneer paratha, dal paratha, mooli paratha, gajar paratha, keema paratha, and the list is actually endless. You can create your own special paratha as per the filling of your choice!

Today’s recipe is of Mooli ka Paratha (made with radish filling) which goes well with regular aachars (pickles) or day to day subzi. Have this paratha with some butter that simple doubles its taste. It is made by shredding the mooli and filling it while rolling into the paratha. You could use desi ghee to make the paratha or may be your regular cooking oil. Ingredients needed for Mooli Ka Paratha

Wheat flour – 2 cups

Salt to taste

Mooli (Radish) – 1 cup (peeled and grated)

Green chili – 2 (chopped)

Green coriander – 2 tbsp (chopped)

Garam masala powder – 1/2 tsp

Ghee or oil for frying

How to make Mooli Ka Paratha

Add 1/2 tsp salt in wheat flour and make a soft dough.

Cover and keep aside.

Add 1 tsp salt over grated radish and keep aside for 10 minutes.

Radish will leave water.

Squeeze the radish and remove all the water.

Add green chili, coriander and garam masala to the radish to prepare the filling.

Make small balls from the dough.

Dust and roll the dough to 4 inches circle.

Keep 2 tbsp of filling in the center of the dough and bring the ends together.

Dust and roll to make parathas.

Heat a tawa and fry the parathas from both the sides using little ghee or oil.

Serve hot with butter and aachar.
