Poori and aloo ki sabzi is almost everyone’s favorite to be enjoyed on a weekend. But to relish the same recipe on a fasting day becomes a boon. With the onsetting of the Navratri season, let’s revive this traditional recipe with the flavors of Navratri.

Recipe

Kuttu ki poori: Take 2 cups of kuttu ka atta in a bowl and add 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder and rock salt to it. Add 1 cup of boiling water to it and mix well. Once the mixture has cooled down, start kneading the mixture into a smooth dough. The dough should not be sticky otherwise it would be difficult to prepare the pooris. Now start making small balls of this dough and give these balls the shape of the pooris. Heat cooking oil in a kadai and fry these pooris until golden brown.

Aloo ki sabzi: Boil 5-6 potatoes in a pressure cooker. Once they are boiled, peel and keep them aside to cool. For the tadka, pour some oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, hing, and dry red chilies. Once theses ingredients are cooked, add about four chopped tomatoes, some chopped green chilies, and rock salt. Let the tomatoes cook for about 10 minutes on a simmer flame. Now add the boiled potatoes in the pan and mix well. After 5 minutes, add water to the sabzi. Let it boil for 7-8 minutes. Garnish with coriander leaves.
