Christmas season deserves a  special treat everyday and its always good to have box full of treats so when the guests or kids come visiting you can always dish out these special treats. I also like to serve my family with specials everyday, so be it evening tea or breakfast or even school or office lunch, something has to be special always. Today I made and stored Christmas cookies with a special thumbprint filled with raspberry jam in everyone of them called Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies. All family was just overjoyed with a single sight of these delicious cookies and just could not imagine that these could be actually made at home. Today I share this Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies Recipe with you, so you too can enjoy this season with special thumbprints, in fact have your kids help you and see how excited they would be to share these cookies with everyone.

Ingredients needed for Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies

(makes 18-20 cookies)

Maida – 1 1/2 cup

Unsalted butter – 1/2 cup

Vanilla essence – 1 tsp

Sugar – 3/4 cup

Raspberry Jam – 1/4 cup

How to make Raspberry Thumbprint Cookies

Preparation time: 20 min.

Cooking time: 40 min.

Blend the sugar in a blender to make a powder.

Pre heat the oven to 180 C.

Add sugar with butter and whisk vigorously for about 5 min.

Add vanilla essence and mix well.

Add the maida slowly and mix to form a soft dough.

Make 18/20 balls from this dough and make a small gap in the middle using your thumb.

Fill the raspberry jam in this gap.

In a oven tray line half of the cookies and bake for about 15 min. The cookies will automatically take the shape.

Remove and repeat the process with the other half of cookies.

Cool the cookies and serve.
