The BJP government on Friday completed its first year of the second term. Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a letter to the countrymen on the occasion of the first anniversary of Modi 2.0 government said the nation took some historic decisions and the country witnessed rapid progress in all fronts in the last one year.

PM expresses pain on labourers hardships

PM Modi expressed his anguish over the hardships faced by displaced workers, stranded labourers during the COVID-19 crisis. He further added that the economy of the country is suffering amid nationwide COVID-19 lockdown. But PM Modi stated that India would revive its economy soon and set an example for the entire world as it did in its fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

Modi unveils his govt’s achievements

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled his government’s achievements in the last one year. The Union government took several decisions in the nation’s interest. The list is too long to detail in an epistle. He further added that his government has worked round the clock with determination in the last one year.

PM happy over his decisions

However, PM Modi expressed satisfaction over some of the decisions taken by his government such as “surgical” and “air” strikes inside Pakistan, Supreme Court’s decision on Ram Temple, scrapping of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir which would develop the spirit of national unity and integration, Citizenship Bill and so on.

People allow him to build a strong India

Speaking on his two terms the prime minister said that people have provided another chance to his government to build a strong foundation which was laid in the first innings. During the period of 1914-19 India’s stature rose tremendously at the world forum. The dignity of the poor in the country has increased significantly. PM Modi also lauded that his government has been able to provide free gas and electricity connections, total sanitation coverage, and working on to ensure ‘Housing for All’.

Govt solves old issues

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised that the present government solved decades-old demands like One Rank One Pension (OROP), One Nation One Tax, better support price for farmers. It proves that the government wants to see all-round development so that people from all walks of life get their equal share. The Centre is following its slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’.

Speaking on the landslide victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, PM Modi said

“In 2019, people of India voted not merely for continuity but also with a dream of taking India to new heights, to make the country a global leader.”

Need collective effort to contain COVID-19

Coming on India’s fight against the containment of COVID-19 he said when COVID-19 hit the country many feared that India would be a problem but a collective effort by the countrymen is unparalleled which is an effort to overcome from this deadly virus. Such determination has not been seen in many powerful nations of the world. He further added on every occasion you have shown that Ek Bharat is the guarantee for Shrestha Bharat.”

PM thanks people

In his letter Modi said that a golden chapter was added in the history of Indian democracy this day last year when people voted his government to come into power for a second successive term with a landslide victory. It was a record after several decades that people voted back the same government with a full majority.

Opposition exposes govt

The opposition has been criticising the government on the occasion of the first anniversary of the second term of the Modi government. They blame that government failed to deliver on administrative, economic, foreign affairs, and social fronts. The law and order situation is worsening, the economy of the country is staggering, the border tension with China and Nepal has created another issue for the country. Social rift has also widened.

The government has plenty of challenges ahead. How to deal with the lockdown period to start the economic activities in the country. It is undeniable that the country’s economy has suffered a lot in the phase of lockdown.
