As the world is on the verge of shutting down in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, the film industry from across the globe has gone into liquidation, like other industries. Celebrities that have tested positive for Covid-19

The early reports of the 63-year-old Tom Hanks, the American actor/filmmaker and his wife Rita Wilson‘s positive test results for coronavirus made headlines when Hanks himself took to social media and wrote a post on his diagnosis and quarantine story.

He wrote,

“We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive…”

He further said,

“Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We (Hanks) will be tested, observed and isolated for as long as public health and safety requirements. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no? We’ll keep the world posted and updated. Take care of yourselves!”

Hanks and his wife have been discharged from a Queensland hospital in Australia and are now in self-isolation at their home.

Apart from them, the Fast and Furious actor, Idris Elba has also been tested positive of the novel coronavirus on Monday despite being asymptomatic.

He later updated his condition saying “feeling OK” to his fans.

The ‘Game of Thrones’ actor, Kristofer Hivju has also been diagnosed with the illness on Monday. He took it to Instagram and wrote to his fans

“… Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Coronavirus. My family and I are self-isolated at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of cold …”

There are several advisories of how to fight the virus. Sanitisers to masks are either vanishing from the shelves or available at hiked prices. Amidst this alarming situation, even Hindi film industry actors have taken to their social media platforms to remind people to stay safe.

Don’t panic and more importantly, don’t cause panic. Your actions affect those around you. Efforts are being made all over the world, and we must all do our part, however small …”

Besides, production houses such as Ekta Kapoor‘s Balaji Telefilms Limited and Karan Johar‘s Dharma Productions have suspended all administrative and production work as a precautionary measure suggested by the government to minimise the risk of spreading the virus.
