Rahul kills Pappu during no-confidence motion debate

Rahul Gandhi Kills Pappu

Has Rahul Gandhi finally shed the tag of “Pappu”? It seems that Rahul Gandhi has finally come of age and announced his arrival on the Indian political realm in a scintillating manner. The Congress President lambasted the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and Prime Minister Narendra, when he delivered an engrossing speech in the Parliament.
When the no-confidence motion was accepted by the Speaker of the Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan on Wednesday, BJP was confident with its strength in the House. Today, when the debate on the no-confidence motion began, Telugu Desam Party’s Jayadev Galla kicked-off the session with an articulate speech. He hit out at the hypocrisy of Modi government and its failure to foster development in the newly demarcated state of Andhra Pradesh. Jayadev Galla set the ball-rolling for Congress President Rahul Gandhi, bamboozled the BJP with his oratory salvos, hitting out the government for the growing atrocities against Dalits, tribals, women, and minorities across the country, questioning the silence of Prime Minister. In his scathing attack on the government and PM Modi, Rahul vociferously talked about BJP’s “jumla strike”. Hitting out at the Prime Minister’s “chowkidaar” remarks instead calling him a “bhaagidari” for his alleged involvement in the Rafale deal.

He vented out the frustration of millions of Indians who are ready to call the bluffs of Prime Minister Modi and BJP. The blatant hypocrisy of Prime Minister was reflected when he was sitting on swings with Chinese counterpart, who in turn repaid the hospitality by sending Chinese troops to Doklam. Rahul called out the Prime Minister for not looking into his eyes directly when he spoke the truth about him. The Congress President called out Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for lying to the nation during her recent intervention in the infamous Rafale jet deal. He pointed out the abuses directed at him, the name “Pappu” that was given to him, the hatred spewed at him. The Congress President insisted on turning the hate and anger of the ruling government into love. Rahul Gandhi ended his speech in a passionate voice thanking the BJP, RSS, and PM. He learnt the real value of being an Indian, a Congressman, and most importantly a Hindu because of them. The most-defining moment happened when after completing his speech he went over to hug PM Modi.

In 2016, he said that if given a chance to speak in the Parliament he will bring an earthquake, he really brought an earthquake in the BJP’s camp. I have been skeptical of Rahul Gandhi ever since he came onto political scene largely because of failure as an orator. But, today he turned my skepticism into optimism with spell-bounding speech. A speech that not only sent shivers down the spine of ruling party but a rallying cry for a change from the oppressive rule Modi government.
